In most of the reviews I have read, the Sawsmith 2000 is not a really good table saw. The reviews I read said it was not real accurate and under powered. Due to sliding feature of the saw carriage and also only a 1½ HP motor. Any other thoughts or rebuttals on this? Thanks!

I've never seen one of these for sale in my area. I have automated searches that notify me when there is Shopsmith stuff for sale within about a 200-mile radius. eBay and CraigsList Not one has turned up until today.

I'm not interested or it would be gone already.

It has a Mark 5 (greenie) main table. Not good! Will not work mounted properly.

I see it now that you mention it. I really wasn't looking that close. I'm only interested in newer ones. I almost have enough parts to assemble a second Mark V.

I am interested in purchasing the speed reducer if it will work with my Mark V - 500 unit. Please let me know if it will and if the reducer is still available. Thank you

Welcome to the forum. This is a place where you can learn all about the Shopsmith and even more; some of which you would never imagine.

Yes, it is still available and it will work with the 500.

Are you referring to the speed reducer available from SS, or a different source. If SS, then Dusty is correct. If elsewhere, this question needs to be directed elsewhere.

This says it is for a 1950's Shopsmith but I do not recognize the legs or some of the other characteristics. It may be the angle and it is hard to see some of it in the picture. I think it is a Mk II with jointer and belt sander.
