The thing is, they all claim to be one and the same!

While I'm waiting to hear back from Motion Windows, I got busy installing the port engine. Having learned what works and what doesn't when I installed the starboard engine, things are going a lot faster this time around. It's nice when things go smoothly. :cool2:

Getting the port Cummins 6CTA installed is sure easier than the first time around with the starboard engine. I've got all the tools, parts, and supplies, and so far there haven't been any serious surprises. My Shopsmith has been a big help making the aluminum engine beds, though I do find myself thinking this is a challenge for the Mark V. Another couple of days on the boat and this engine will be installed.

The port engine is installed! It's amazing how smoothly things go the second time around, when you've got all of the supplies, you know what modifications to expect, and you've got the right parts to replace the wrong parts that certain manufacturers send out with very expensive upgrade kits. booya

Looks nice. I always enjoyed installing engines. It seems every one has its little challenges but it always gives you a sense of accomplishment when everything is hooked up, all the wiring and plumbing is neat and tidy and the feeler gauges slip in the same all the way around the coupling.
Good work. There is a light at the end of the tunnel ...... honest.

Thanks, shipwright! Unfortunately, the light at the end of the tunnel just got blocked by Motion Windows, the guys who built my bow seat and helm windshields. They responded to my complaint that they once again made 2/3 of the frames too big. Their response alternated between being snarky, insulting, unprofessional, and demonstrably untrue. What's really unfortunate is that their product concept is outstanding--it really is the best vehicle window design on the market. But execution is important. They can have the best design, outstanding welds, and super powder coating, but when they make 70% of the windows on both of my orders too big, it goes from outstanding to epic fail. This is extremely frustrating.
