I am uncertain about the click at turn on but I believe I heard you run from low speed to high speed and back down and then turn off. The click at shut down sounds exactly like my unit with the AO Smith motor.

The click at turn on is not as audible as at turn off....yep...I took it all the way up and than down before turning it off.

I was concerned that the clicks just showed up..they were not there the few times I turned it on/off previously. Maybe my cleanup with 150MPH blower made the difference...:)

I guess now I can move on with my project without worrying too much...hopefully it comes out as good as the virtual one...my first real woodworking project..
