Needing plastic yoke. Did you find a source?hmfwic wrote:If I'm posting in the wrong forum, please correct me. I have an 18" Shopsmith jigsaw #505644 which is no longer in production and needs a 'yoke bracket assembly #502275'. I inquired with Shopsmith and was referred a couple of dead ends. any chance of locating one somewhere?
Thank you for your indulgence.

No, have not found a source yet. There is a video on youtube that shows how to make one out of heavy plastic. Will try to get plastic today and make one. Thanks for your response. Chuckchuckwagon wrote:Needing plastic yoke. Did you find a source?
Bill, thanks for responding. I am going to get some heave plastic today and try to make coupler today. Will let you know. Chuckbillmayo wrote:I made and have available a few of the couplers for the jigsaw. I also have all the jigsaw parts available. If I do not quickly respond, please let me know after a few days as I misplace and lose my notes too often these days.

Since these are notorious leakers, dry running is not unreasonable to assume contributed to 'melting'.dusty wrote:I'm wondering if there is a good reason for why this needs to be made from plastic.
In a well maintained machine, do those shafts get lubricated? Is heat build up the reason for failure of the plastic part?
