Other than operator error, the only setscrew I have had come loose was the one that was overtightened and rounded out. I put it in so hard when I was having bandsaw vibration issues when I first got the PowerPro.

Am I the only one who uses a drop of threadlock to secure them? Not the permanant-never get them out stuff, just the medium strength stuff.

Here's why I do it. It keeps the arbors from loosening up, I don't have to crank the screws tight enough to strip stuff, and in all the years I've done it, it's never hurt anything. So, what am I missing?
IMO, absolutely nothing. I guess there are different methods to accomplish almost everything. If it works, don't change it.

Remember, the set screw really doesn't hold the arbor on the shaft. The tapered shaft does that. The set screw just prevents the arbor from moving up and off the taper.

Your thread lock simply prevents the set screw from backing out of the way of the taper.
