OKAY! I get the message. But if a bunch of you pick up a virus by linking with some spammer, don't come crying here.

Until I know otherwise, a bunch of these newbies are going on my list of suspicious members.

Hey Dusty,
It was just a little tongue in cheek humor.
I hope you didn't think it was a sarcastic jab. I certainly apologize if you did.
If someone (or some few) really is/are up to no good, it would be fun to spoof them, though. ;)
Probably wouldn't work now that a plan is exposed.:D

I don't know what it is that I might be guilty of but for now, I am pleading "NO CONTEST". I'll just stand on my reputation whatever it may be.

No need to apologize at all, Gene. I take most all of these type discussions as "tongue in cheek".

I wouldn't worry until we see 30 or so new posters like JohnSmith01, JohnSmith02, JohnSmith03 all in a row. Date of birth July 1947, living in Roswell New Mexico....

The only thing I'm sure about is that they all will be name John, so until then keep those eyes wide open, Buckaroo's.

A Running Tally

Worry, who me?

I'm not worried; I'm just a little bit amazed and a whole lot skeptical.

The month is just now a few hours old and already this month the forum has increased its membership roll by twenty (20).

Yes, twenty is less than 4 hours.

The first member to join in January 2013 was member number 11623.

The first member to join in February 2013 was member number 13951.

The first member to join in March 2013 was member number 16135.

The most recent to register was member # 16155. (Scratch that. It is already up to 16163). (Scratch that. It is now 16181).

So far this year, the forum has gained 4532 new member(names). If my math is correct, that is about 75 a day or 3+ every hour. Phenomenal growth.

I sure hope that at least a few of these new members are buying Mark 7s and the rest are ordering parts to fix up their old machines.

Also interesting to note: At four of the six data points used to come up with the information posted here, four of the member names had a feminine ring (bridgid, peggy, gretchen, vivien).

I wonder just how many of these new members are posting???

I sampled every 10th new member since the 1st of the new year and found only one who had posted and that one only posted twice. This is a pretty small sample and because it was not random, it is not to be considered scientific. The small sample size also makes it questionable.

Hey Ed, we can't tell when they were born or where they live. They don't fill out their personal profile.
