Speaking of wooden clamps here are a couple of posts on the subject.

Exactly right on the wooden clamps Ed, perfect example of a modified wooden clamp.

And yes not really much need to clamp the clamp to the table except to reduce operator error and/or improve repeated operation accuracy. Hand pressure should be sufficient to resist any torque from the drill as long as the drill bit is cutting properly and you're taking your time drilling.

Some customer reviews had expressed dissatisfaction with durability of the older model. We decided to improve that by replacing it with this sturdier model.

Actually by using the alternate miter-slot, you get a lot of flexibility. As shown, that's the best orientation to mount the vise.

What had not worked as well for me with the vise was turning it 90 degrees from the photo's orientation..... in that case I would be restricted to T-nuts on one side -- not well-balanced, and they would tend to slightly cant the vice.

Realizing this product deficiency, what would really, really be appreciated is some sort of special credit or discount offered to owners of the old model.

The photo image is intended as confirmation that I do own one of the old (declared somewhat deficient) models just in case someone needs to know.

My second point was for the vise to be able to fit over the opening of the "table" itself without the red insert. Thinking that it could then be attached to the table through the bigger hole with clamps coming from under the table. I guess my french got in the way and I did not phrase it right so you could understand my point.
But I appreciate all of the suggestions that were made in the process and for now I will look for some wood clamp like you suggested.
With the picture, I see that it would cross opening without the insert.
