No, though at one time I did have a HAZMAT cert., worked at a Superfund and was a construction supervisor. First occurrence (never thought there would be a second!!) , inquired about handling and disposal of it and was told that the quantity of hazardous materials was small enough that could have been added to the waste stream without concern.

Not the answer you were expecting??

My opinion and you all know how cheap I am. The Shopsmith light on sale is worth it. I have two and will buy two more the next sale.

If you have ever used a cheap light you know they get hot as heck after awhile from the light blub. The SS has a massive heat sink and keeps the light below raise an instant blister from heat point.

I switched it over to a CFL and that is even better. Number on light on the work bench. Number one light on bandsaw, planer and miter saw. That is why I need two more.

I'm going to try, this and when the SS light comes up on sale I will most probably get one. Used my headlamp today and it worked OK.

I have two of the shopsmith lights with extra brackets. They are great and easy too move around.

I was just thinking about these seconds before I saw your post. You could mount most any small flashlight in one of these. Some of them will put out more light than you coulds possibly use.

A quick Google search found a bunch of other possibilities.

I'm a big fan of the clamp on lamps and have several of them. They are cheap and use cheap standard bulbs that are available in just about any type you want. They are available just about anywhere for around $5.

Based upon many of the TV remodeling and house buying shows there should be a huge abundance of used track lighting available to install in workshops.
One of my many annoyances with such shows is the constant use of the word "dated" about everything and a near panic from some almost complete simpleton that the counters are not granite, the appliances are not all stainless steel (which BTW I read is now becoming "dated" and falling from favor) and god forbid a million dollar house has a couple of feet of track lighting somewhere in it...
Far too many young couples that have NEVER had to do without ANYTHING in their lives. The concept of starting at the bottom and working their way up is completely alien to them.
Our kids grew up getting everything they needed but NEVER everything they wanted... Even what they needed was worked for...
Sorry... I was not watching where I was going and tripped over a soapbox...

Anywho, I am going to be watching yard sales for a little track lighting for a few spots in the shop.

Speaking of which, which one(s) came out with the idea of stone tile floors and granite counter tops for a kitchen wherein much fragile dishware resides?:eek:
