So Chuck, do you see the orange well? Is it better than blue?

Loosening that upper assembly and moving it as far as it will move to the right gives me enough room to achieve the required depth of cut. Even with a 1/2" cross cut bevel sled I will have adequate depth of cut.
This allows me to finish this one up coming project without giving up the lift assist which, I discovered today when it was disconnected, I really cannot do without. Over the last couple years, that headstock, carriage and table have put on some weight.
