Re: Tablet talk

I was new to tablets back when I started this thread in 2014. The samsung tablet I got is still working fine and has been upgraded android wise several times. I really like it for somethings but when our laptop died I showed the wife how to use it and since then I don't get to use it much.
So not long ago I got a lenovo tab2a, a newer but much less expensive option. Shouldn't have done that I guess as it is no where near the machine the samsung is. For one thing they don't seem to have an upgrade path for this model to even V6. It is much slower, the screen sensitivity is not as good and not adjustable.
It is OK for reading mail, looking at web pages and playing movies and if that is all you do then sure it works but I'd rather be at my PC doing these things rather then on the tablet. What the tablet gives me is that I can take it with me and if we are grandkid sitting I still can access things and share with them or check in here to see what's new.
Even the free microsoft office stuff is not great to work with even for free, they are not full versions and I have no love of the keyboard on the machine. I have a bluetooth keybd which helps but even that is not like having a real keyboard.
I've tried photo editing and well not to my liking. Haven't tried video editing but as slow as these are I'm pretty sure I'd find that lacking. And I know I'd never ever attempt trans coding, it hard enough of my desktop system, had to upgrade my fans to keep it cool enough when it get cranking, very power use intensive for a desktop and I think impossible on a tablet.
I've been looking at a new laptop, one small enough to take like the tablet but with more power and so on. So far I'm not finding what I want but if and when I do I'll more then likely pick one up. Perhaps in the spring. I don't see another strictly tablet in my future, I just haven't fallen for them except in a very limit use way. Sort of wish I hadn't gotten the lenovo now after using for a while.
