The HS looks where it should be in relation to the left to right, IMHO and a few M's. Single quill to the right, PTOs to the left.

All true, but the head rest is on the right and the pivot base is on the left. This would make it impossible to use it as a drill press, the head stock would be below the table.

Thanks. I have a lot to learn, and I've taken all that apart already.

Charlese, that is why you are CA Liberal and whining about a thread on dust collection!! Some want a fixer there first time, that is how you learn these machines!!! Some just want to go to work, come home after a 14 hour day with commute in CA and have wine and cheese. I after my 2nd one, dont need a fixer upper either, BUT in WI they are a dime a dozen now and for an 100.00 more can be picky. Dont steal his 40.00 steal and the learning experience he will get from the fixer upper, and the comarodery here to help him in his quest.

I barely know what the machine can do. I just liked the idea of it when I saw it on CL and did some googling. I certainly wouldn't have spent the $400+ people want for a restored Mark V when I hadn't ever used one.

I'm from New England originally, we are cheapskates. The thrill of the hunt is a big part of this. I'm hoping to use this to refurb other tools and items, so fixing it up first seemed perfect. Seeing that they use SS's to build other SS's was a hoot.

If standing on the switch, speed controller side the HS is my my left hand, tail stock to my right side/end of the way tubes.
The Table for the saw and its controls are on reversed, BUT not the HS from factory orientation!!!!!!!!

My Bad!!! My Ohps!!!! My Apologies!!!!! The HS is on the wrong side/reversed on the whole "frame"!!!!

The carriage is the only thing that is mounted correctly, everything else is backwards.

Some folks learn slowly(but well!).



The headstock and carriage are reversed does not mean relative to each other(usually).




My experience has taught me that when others opinion(etc.) does not coincide with mine to step back, take another open minded look from a different viewpoint and really TRY to see what they see.(usually):)
