I got the bug and had to start. Here are photos of the first two glue ups.

Here is the second glue up. I haven't gotten to the small moving parts yet

So far so good. I'm am looking forward to your completed project.

I just made a modification to mine. I added a Rifleman style D ring lever...

I had thought about doing that but I think I'll see if I can make the original and if I get it to work and I can alway tinker with it later. By the way the Elmer's repositioning spray is working great. Thx.

What screws did you use? I can't decide if I will use round head, flat head,,brass, black metal, chrome type finish. I plan on staining the stock, I think. It depends how I think I can get the exposed plywood ends to look.

I used brass #4 x 3/4" flat head phillips.

FWIW: I'd stain the parts that are wood on the real gun and paint the metal parts black,brown or dark blue to resemble finished metal .

The original rifle receiver/body is polished brass. I am staining the wood parts, as you suggested. Painting the lever, hammer and other metal parts gunmetal silver/gray and painting the receiver a bright/polished brass.
