Now what on earth could the 'original' poster of that pix have done to create this phenomenon???

I've been using some photo-editing software that came with a Canon DSLR. Pretty powerful stuff, but not the most user-friendly. One of its quirks has to do with the way it "modifies" photos.

Let's say that I rotate or resize a photo, and then save it. In the photo-editing app, the modified image appears as you would expect. But in some other applications, the rotating/resizing appears to have not been done at all. From this, I surmised that the photo-editing app simply implemented my commands in the image metadata, which other apps are free to either use or to ignore.

In this particular photo-editing app, the trick is to use the "convert and save" command when saving the modified image. Then it is shown as expected by all applications.

Well that may explain Charlese's problem! Love software that lies!!!!

This thread caused me to reflect back on years past. Then came a bit of researching old purchase records. I did not do an exhaustive search; just enough to confirm a suspicion.

Shopsmith has not always pushed Johnsons Paste Wax. In fact Trewax, Johnsons Paste Wax and Minwax have all been offered for sale by Shopsmith. I guess wax is wax. But I am still not changing. I just have to find something to use this Trewax on other than my Shopsmith equipment.

In the 1990 Shopsmith Catalog (oh how I miss that hard copy catalog) you can read the following:

"Used on furniture, cabinets, shelves , floors and maintaining your Mark V. Contains imported South American Carnanba as its base ingredient. Comes in a 1lb. can.

DA-0649 Paste Wax (1 lb.) ........$6.00"

Small images will appear larger than desired in shopsmith1 until I get the real fix in place. This is caused by my quick-fix to prevent the word-wrapping problem with large images in Firefox.

Nothing the poster does can affect this. Past/Current posts will show correctly once the fix is in.
