He stated he had physical therapy and to him it was like torture and did him little or no good and in fact may have slowed his recovery. None of us are Ina position to dispute that. We can tell of how physical therapy helped us but as we all know every body reacts differently to things.
I have heard of physical therapy success stories but I have also heard of disasters from physical therapy.
Instead of making snide remarks about Extramile let us support him as he recovers from this injury no matter the method.
Nasty? No. Highly opinionated, yes. From one who has likely suffered, yes. A solution for the rest of us, no.ChrisNeilan wrote:Ed in Tampa wrote:I think many of you are being unfair on this issue. It is almost like Extramile should be taken out and burned at the stake.

Burned at the stake? No, no no! I have been in his situation, and was an extreme doubter. Then I found a good therapist. Made all the difference and I became a convert! My concern is that someone might try to work through the pain and in doing so cause more damage. I did see a rather nasty post earlier that seems to have disappeared..... Not the place for that.
Ok, I will entertain that. I plan to ask my doctor about what I can do, after getting a cortisone shot. Maybe a couple gentle exercises, to further my rehab!ChrisNeilan wrote:That is good, well, not good, but better than a tear! Still do a few sessions of PT with a good therapist. A good one will not hurt you, but will show you what to do when at home. Mine gave me a printout of gentle exercises to do at home. It really helps.ExtraMile wrote:I wish to set folks straight, my injury is NOT a cuff tear. They labeled it as Tendonopathy.
Oh boy, thanks for small miracles, because if I had seen this particular burning at the stake, I most assuredly would of acted out and I likely would have been KICKED OFF OF THE SITE, FOR EVER.JPG wrote:Nasty? BTW thanks for the hands behind the back pec stretch/shoulder blade 'scrunch'. It works already and is quite simple and makes a lot of sense!!!
My shoulder thanks you!
Might be a sign that you are getting old. There comes a point in life you are glad for the pain it lets you know you still have whatever hurtsExtraMile wrote:Cortisone shot, worked wonders for 6 days. It has now, pretty much reverted back to just plain pain. I will call the PT person on Monday. Hell, even more things ache now. Maybe, this is a sign, that I have some form of RA, who knows?
