I guess squeaky wheel gets greased in this case. Just got an email from ShopSmith saying my headstock had shipped and would be here on Monday. So much for internal communications at ShopSmith.

Hopefully this time will be the last!
Big brother is watching! ;)

Methinks you squeaked in the right 'place'.

Sometimes I think the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. In any case, SS needs to communicate better internally.

I agree, we know they have lost some key people to retirement lately and I feel that is contributiing to the problem, but it does need to be fixed.

I still wonder why it takes so long on some of this stuff. Waiting two or three months for a Mark 7 (like I did) seems excessive.

I also ran my own business for 40 years, so I know the problems they can face, particularly with personnel ....

I think most of the problems stem from Shopsmith refusing to carry any PowerPro parts inventory. Everytime they get a order or someone has a PP problem things have to go through New Zealand.

Inventory is an asset but it is also an expense. If that was not the case, I would have a shed full of rough cut lumber (several species) right here on the property. As it is, when I want to build something, well......

True Dusty, but a necessity to a limit, a part of the cost of doing business, a balancing act for sure.

I agree. When I got the email about the SS Traveling Academy at the beginning of November I called SS to see if the old policy of souses attending free still applied. Gail knew nothing about it and insisted they don't do traveling accademys any more. I told her the email has the SS phone number and email address. After putting me on hold twice she came back and said "I guess we do. I will have Mike Young call you". When Mike called I told him the story. He said everyone was supposed to be told months ago.

Mike said! Gail said! The email said!

Dusty asks! Are the reinstated "traveling academies" a business project of Mikes' or are they a Marketing Concept of Shopsmith's. When I read what I have been able to read about this, I sense it to be Mike's.

OK, whatever Dusty. It is Mike's idea but who is paying Mike. He is certainly no doing this on his dime. Who do you think is paying him? Do you think SS would allow this without their blessing and send out emails with their contact information all over it.

Here is the From: address of the email I received...

Shopsmith <shopsmith@shopsmith.com>

"Mike said! Gail said! The email said!" Yes that is what they said!!! Sorry , I don't have recordings.

I can send you the email I got if you want to see it.

Why are you so skeptical? This is a good thing.

My post was to the question about SS internal communications and I stand by it.
