It appears to be a Shopsmith Mark V Model 500. If you have the serial number that can be better confirmed.

The other photos do not look like any Shopsmith I have ever seen.

Yes three actually.
One was all rusty from picture.
2nd I was told it looked like a Total Shop not Shopsmith
The last one is what I am looking at now and it is a shopsmith Mark V and the guy told me I could buy it for $400 instead of $600 as he wants it out of his way in his workshop.

The pictures from your 07:46 AM post is a Total Shop. The last picture is a nice looking Shopsmith. Not a bad deal for $400. Where did the Total Shop pictures come from as you never said.

I see the original rusty Shopsmith you were looking at is listed on Ebay now. I doubt he will get much for it as it is really rough and rusty looking. These are the ones I buy for $100.

IF you buy one, the FIRST THING to do is clean it up, lube it, and then turn the power coupling by HAND.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.
