Possibly, but that tree is much smaller than the one that went down and has no crotch/nest location high enough off the ground for them. There is nothing else out there with in miles that is any bigger. I am sure at some point they will be moving on. We have been watching them for years and years. They will be missed. The telescope is not going to get near as much use anymore.

I wish. It is very very sad. A couple of years ago the Eagles had a convention out there around the nest tree. My wife stopped counting at 30. It was really amazing. I guess that won't happen again.
As Ed said it is nature and I totally understand that but it is still hard when you have watched them raise their young for so many years. They will endure.

I guess the only option is to cherish the memories that you had John. That is an experience few will ever have.

Very true Paul. I have a few pictures also. The tree was about a mile and a half from the house according to Google Earth. All the pictures I have were taken from the back deck of the house using max zoom so they aren't great but they will preserve the memories.
