Finally, got a return call late yesterday, from Vilma of St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. She reported that at the moment, they have a sufficient supply of wooden toys, but to check back about Thanksgiving to Christmas. She did remind my wife to not put any finish on anything, just raw sanded wood. Her phone number is 1-800-822-6344 and ask who to speak with about donating wooden toys. They will tell you where to send it at the time.

Toys for Tots will not accept any home made toys. All toys to that organization must be factory wrapped.

In July I did a Sketchup plan for a corner desk sort of a mission style book shelf with corner desk. It had to be narrow to go where I wanted to put it. But dstenslands posted a really nice corner desk that inspired some major changes. Here is my version. Most of the wainscoat material was done in Shopsmith shaper mode with 1 1/2 inch walnut strips. Switched to 3 inch ones with a Craftsman planer molder when I got an inverter heat malfunction with the Power Pro.

It's that time of year again, wife has me making craft projects for her to paint.

ER bench tried to do a Patina finish on fresh wood using Shellac with dye in it. Wiped on, should have been sprayed, I am still afraid to pull the trigger on it, it is still in the box since late May/early June.
