Don;
Thomas Jefferson - A long time ago - no! I wasn't there! - warned us about the eventual increase of power given to the Federal Government, because of complacency of the people would eventually cause a rejection of government.

I also worry about the welfare of my children and grand and great grandchildren. Every time I get the chance I share this fear and try to get them to get interested in the country's laws and legal interpretations of same. If legal interpretations don't make sense to them - do what they can to change the judges. (State and Federal)

Interesting topic. The way I see it is that this forum is designed to fan the flame of woodworking (and shopsmith goods), and to build a family style community to keep the forum alive in order build upon that previous idea (promotion of shopsmith and woodworking).

So anything that can interfere with those goals may be deemed undesirable. Like I was told by family earlier this year, you don't talk about politics with family.

Now if you were to write out your post via router on a nice panel and post how you made it, then the post would fall into the woodworking idea. Lol but it better be one passionate post.

It would be awesome though to see how well it came out.

Beave, and all, the MS has pretty much showed that inclination and direction, so I dont know why this Thread keeps going along the lines it is, if so, I am sure it will be closed soon.

Yup, things are out of control. Remember the news commentator a few weeks ago that commented on one of the female Olympians. Her husband was/is her coach and the commentator said he, the coach, was the reason she had her stuff together and won. Well, DUH, what are coaches for?

Then some idiot media commentator said that comment was sexist and the media exploded. If her coach had been female nothing would have been said because the brain dead reporter had no point.

I think the time has long passed that the 'media' needs to stop creating news and resume reporting it(and not explaining/interpreting it either).

Editorialize if desired, but do not misrepresent it as unbiased reporting.

Yes I used to think old people were cantankerous, but I have come to understand why.

I totally agree, the media no longer reports the news they manipulate it. I stopped my paper for that exact reason. Told the newspaper company that was the reason and their answer was it sells papers. Not to me it doesn't

In these spaces, it's not so much a question of one person's truth versus another's. Or one person's exclamation of the truth versus someone else's thin skin. We should ask ourselves, "Does this post invite a flame war?" If so, don't hit the submit button.

This isn't a restriction on your freedom. It's a matter of courtesy in someone else's (Shopsmith's) home.
