Keep in mind how the screw is supposed to function.

Loosened it allows the screw to clear the pin as it is raised.

Tightened it merely touches the pin to secure it. The screw has a tapered end that WILL jam onto the pin. So easy does it.

It is NOT a clamp and does not require a gorilla.
