Thank you so much for the information. My jointer has a metal plate attached and it says model number 620 serial number 36159
I can say that the cutter head assembly part has a number on it, 100000, stamped on it. Not sure what that means, but there it is.
May I ask, should the the front and rear bearing housings spin loosely or be a bit stiff? The one with the rod sticking out spins freely and the other one does not.

Dry bearings spin freely. Lubricated bearings rotate easily but do not spin.

They need grease, not oil. Easier to just get new ones.

It would be best to replace the Bearings. The Jointer runs at R on the Speed Indicator which is 3500 RPM's on the upper SPT Drive and Quill. The Jointer attaches to the lower "high speed" shaft that runs about 1.6 times faster so 5600 RPM's. With the higher speed the jointer runs it is a good idea to have bearings that are in top shape.
