With that Serial Number of ER-9121 and the second plate on the back side of the headstock it probably was a demo. With the ER before the serial number it would have been made in the Eastern plant and an early one made there. With the 65 to 70 years that has past since these were made it is interesting to see how few have moved from west to east or east to west. Most of the Serial Numbers I have seen, either in person, craigslist or eBay, starting with R are still in the western US and the ones with E or ER are in the Eastern US.

Adding another picture of the 10ER project. The A-34 Jigsaw has been completely taken apart, cleaned and partly reassembled. Surprisingly the moving parts are tight for it's age. Cleaned up the bushings and re-oiled the parts. Flexible Coupling seems to be good too. I'd like to know where I can get a spare one just in case. Looking forward to finishing the reassembly. I'll post another picture when it's all together. It's amazing how many critters and bug nests find their way into the housing!

It is hard to find the coupler but there is an alternative. We were just talking about it on another thread. It is the Lovejoy L050X5/8HUB RSB (2 needed) and the L050SOX (1 needed). 2 hubs and a "spider" needed to make a complete unit. It is 3/32" shorter than the original hub and smaller in diameter. Check their website for more information and location to purchase.

When I have restored this version of the Jig Saw I have always found something inside the Lower Frame even as far as inside the gear box. The later version changed the Lower Frame so the gear box is closed up and it added the belt cover. The Upper Frame is the same and common to find bugs or stuff in there too. In case you need one below is a PDF of the early version Manual.

Thanks Russ! I appreciate the info that you and the other members have shared. Here are some pictures of the Jigsaw all done. The Jigsaw works very well! One puzzling question, How does the saber saw support (134-13) work, as I see a hole in the post and a adjusting jam nut. I don't see anything on what it does or how it's hooked up to anything even in the manual.

It looks like a non OEM bolt that replaced P/N P1316 that holds the table tilt indexing lever. It should be a 1/4-20 X 1 1/2" hex bolt.
