Picture Upload Size Still 800x600px?

Re: Picture Upload Size Still 800x600px?
I'm totally confused. JPG's post says:
Three pix = dir from sd card(original from camera)
..........= saved file to computer
..........= pix info from forum.
So, where does Irfanview come in to play?

The first of JPG's pictures shows the file loaded from the camera SD card into Irfanview. It is 5+MB in size. The second picture showes the same file reloaded back into Irfanview after being saved out. It is only 1.5+MB in size.
JPG said... "I gotta say Irfanview decreased the file size."

What board style are you using that is allowing the larger pictures?
I'm using the one called shopsmith and it still has the limits. So I have to wonder if that is what is making a difference in what I see and what other see when we are all talking about the same subject but with outcomes.

I use ProSilver and I experience the same limitations on image size.reible wrote:What board style are you using that is allowing the larger pictures?

I also attempted to post "over size" images on the Windows 10 forum and found the same limitations being imposed.

The three screen pix I last posted above are actually screen shots of windows listing the files and size in the relevant folder(directory).
The first shows the file size as it resides on the sd card the camera stored the pix to.(5MB)
The second shows the file size after it is saved(temp.jpg) out of irfanview.(1.5MB)
The third shows the pix info after it is uploaded and displayed by the forum.
All three are screen shots displayed by irfanview(not relevant to all this, merely what I used to save screen shots).
Irfanview 'thinks' the pixel size is greater than the previously understood limits.
I believe the third is displaying a windows function that displays image details. NOPE I think it is a Firefox thing.

Re: Picture Upload Size Still 800x600px?
The point of all this babbling is that the pixel size limit seems to no longer be required. Both you and I uploaded pix that exceeded the earlier limits.dusty wrote:I use ProSilver and I experience the same limitations on image size.reible wrote:What board style are you using that is allowing the larger pictures?

Re: Picture Upload Size Still 800x600px?
I've tried to post over size images and can't. There is something I'm not understanding or something is different between your setup and mine. Just a short while ago I attempted to post a 3000 x 4000 image and got the error message just like always. So what is happening????JPG wrote:I am using "shopsmith" forum version.reible wrote:What board style are you using that is allowing the larger pictures?

Re: Picture Upload Size Still 800x600px?
Not yet sure!
Tried uploading 5 mb file from sd and it failed with the 2 mb limit message.
Then opened irfanview and saved it as temp1.jpg. File size dropped to about 1.5 mb. Irfanview considers it a 4608 x3456 pix.
Upload to forum successful.
property check on uploaded file is the same as the third above (4608 x3456 scaled to 970 x 728.
Question is, what scaled it?

Re: Picture Upload Size Still 800x600px?
Changed the size to 2056 x 1542 and uploaded with no error message. Both pixel dimensions are greater than previous limit. Note file size again dropped.
Is a puzzlement!
