Thanks for the response, JPG! I'm glad to know my bespoke stainless steel cover is acceptable for this situation, I thought it'd be good to verify this- better safe than sorry.

I've got all the tie rods and they're installed. This was a pic I took before I had them put back in place, and I didn't realize that when I attached it to this post. I'm still way too green in the field of motors to fire one up without it being put back together with the parts that look like they function to keep it in one piece as I'm not sure what the consequences would be, but I don't think I'd like to find out. Somehow, I have a feeling the clip at the end does most of the work, and the tie rods are mostly to help you cinch the end caps to the motor body, rather than actually keeping the whole thing together.
