At first I thought the ends of the different sized blox were tangs, but closer examination reveals their different function('bb'). The function of the 'holder' for the shiny ends escapes me. The taper reveals the reason for the backwards reference. Does the allen wrench provide a means for tightening the shiny ends in the 'holder' part?

Yes the "holder" can secure those in place, actually in more then one place in the "holder". The most common location can not be seen in the existing pictures.
I plan to mount this in the tail stock of the shopsmith.

Not sure I would want to be on the same planet when the visible mount is used. MT2 seems small for that!

Yet to be determined as to how well this will work but it has some pretty fine adjustments.

A rigid mount is key to achieving that kind of accuracy!

Yea and the notoriously shopsmith tail stock..........
So another hint, you can make holes by drill or you can make holes by ______.

I think I know what it is, but I've only seen it for metal-working. What will you use it for on a SS?

The video, posted by a seller, made it look like it could work on a SS provided the tail stock was stabilized.
