Thanks for the heads up on the parts. Just ordered several of the parts I need (so far) from Tom @ hogswinslow(etc) He had everything I needed at this point and I'm getting them in 3 days. Great service...I'm going to enjoy the restooration.skou wrote:Let's see if this works. That is the tailstock, for the ER. It also holds the extension table, on the right end. (You can also use it on the left end, but just to hold the ext table.) You need a live (Bearing) or dead (no bearing) center for the tailstock.
You also need some kind of drive mechanism, A, here is the basic drive spur. B, is a dead center, and C, is a live center. You can also use faceplates, and chucks. Yes, all the drive stuff mounts where you have the drill chuck.

That whole BIG piece of cast iron, with the motor underneath, is the headstock. There is a lock, that thing with the bent handle, by the front way tube, that locks it in place. there is another, that locks the quill in place, too.
Any more questions, just ask.
Here is another source. I've dealt with him before, and recommend him.

Thanks for the tip on ordering through hogwinslowwoodworking. I got my first order and was very pleased. Have any of the group ordered through Ebay? It seems like they have a lot of varying prices for the same thing even with or without shipping. I'm always cautious ordering from someone who is not reputable and end up getting something that is not as it is pictured. I'm going to continue to order through hogswinslowwoodworking but if they don't have something I would need a alternate place to go to.skou wrote:Let's see if this works.
