Another question:

There was no lathe-related hardware included with the machine. The tailstock just has a bare hole, no bushing or anything (which I believe should be there?) What do I need to get that function up and running? I'm open to non-oem hardware if that would be simpler / cheaper, as this project is on something of a budget. Please keep in mind I don't know the first thing about wood turning, but would like to learn. Thanks!

And Skip Campbell (MKCtools) has the specs for how to make one from a bolt, but you would need to know someone with a metal shop.

If you contact him he might also have one, or be able to make one for you. He moved house/shop last year, and there were problems, unexpected repairs and renos, and then he had some health challenges, but I believe he reported getting back in the shop back in August or September.

The Floating Center you need most often comes up for sale with the Tailstock. Currently there are two of them for sale on ebay. One is ending tomorrow morning at 9:37 Pacific time for the auction and the other is a buy it now which also includes the Knurled Socket Screw you are missing to hold the Tailstock on. You might want to consider the buy it now one with the Knurled Socket Screw and get both missing items at once. Currently the buy it now one will cost you $7.50 more and auction one could go even higher reducing the price gap. The buy it now has slightly cheaper shipping too (at least to me). Later you could get an additional Extension Table and bracket to have one at each end of the Shopsmith to expand your table area. From time to time I find it handy to have an extension table at each end of the Shopsmith and have an extra on both my 10E and 10ER. I will admit that most of the time I do use my Mark V or Mark 7 which I have an extra extension table for instead of my Model 10's.

I noticed you do not have a Table Insert on the setup with the saw blade. If you need one you can watch the sales or Hog Winslow also makes replacement Inserts. His are solid aluminum not cast but fit and work just like the OEM ones.

Yes they will,
Shopsmith have never been ones to reinvent the wheel without a good reason. Live and drive centers have been the same since day one to the present.

As Ron said, YES

All Model 10 and Mark series tools have a common spindle size of 5/8" with a reverse taper. They also use a #2 Morse Taper for the Tailstock. I can use my 10E original Lathe Drive on my Mark 7 and a new Lathe Drive on my 10E. Pretty much any of the Arbors, Spindles or Chucks made over the years can be used on the Model 10's. Do keep in mind the Model 10 is limited to an 8" Saw Blade and I have not seen any with an 1-1/4" arbor hole.
