Dusty, I'm probably a month or so behind you in dealing with sketchup. Your explanation of exporting to jpg was the way I was doing. But, the question on scaling, well, I had remembered reading something about it somewhere. When I found the link, I gave it a try and when it worked for me, I posted the link.

The exporting to jpg is great when you want to show someone the creation, but if you want plans to build from, I think scaling is probably the way to go.

Thanks to someone's question, I now know how to do it. So, I think this forum is great on two fronts. We can get help, but it also pushed us to try and figure out how to help others.

It don't know exactly when the conversion to .png (Portable Network Graphics) occurs but the process is as follows:

With the sketch that you want to print selected (in Sketchup)....

Select File/Export/2D Graphic....Select the destination where it is to be stored and name it.....and Export. It is now saved as filename.png.

This file will likely have to be resized if you intend to transport it to the forum (800x600) but it can be printed without resizing.

Here the "problem" part is.

My original attempts to print this resulted in a blob of lines less than 1.5" x 1".


P.S. After also trying the .png route, That appears to be the best way to save if future printing is intended. Sizing(pixels) is possible using hp image zone software.
