Thanks Rob, I'll give that box one more look in the morning.
Third try is a charm, right? ;)
Since I don't have the rails yet it isn't that big of a deal. I'm sure they will send one out when I tell them it wasn't in the boxes.

I just talked to customer service at Jointech and there was a small mix up in the invoicing for my system, they didn't invoice the RP-60 router plate.
They are going to ship me a fresh one after Wednesday, after fabricating a new batch.

I also mentioned that the phenolic router table has a very small chip in the yellow laminate, on one of the corners. Sure enough there is a little bit of crushing on that corner of the package where the shipper must have dropped it. (Probably the holiday rush) CS is going to have Ernest call me back but it is so small that if it doesn't continue in a domino effect I'm going to keep the table. I can't see it affecting the operation of the system on the corner.

Merry Christmas to all!!

Santa came through and brought the Jointech for the Shopsmith 520. I am opening the boxes and have found my router plate, but am at a loss to find the fence inserts. If I recall correctly, there are supposed to be a total of four. There is one in the fence, but I cannot locate the other three inserts.

Pinkie, do you remember which box they were in.....would have expected them in the same box as the fence.

Thanks in advance.

D'oh!
I'd better check y boxes because i don't remember seeing those either... maybe they are with/on the fence as that is where I would have put them.

I'll get back to you tomorrow, in the AM.

Well gummybears!
I don't have them either.
OK, I'll get ahold of them early next week. I noticed that they are sending me the router plate so once it shows and I check it out I'll contact them for this too.

The router plate arrived and I called Jointech about the fence inserts.
I have to say that the lady gave a little bit of flak about it this time but eventually she looked up my order and told me that she would ship them out tomorrow.

I received my final pieces to the jointech recently, so its been a bit of a wait but I want to give them props for not totally blowing me off and doing the right thing in the end.
I'll be rereading this thread and any others that I can locate to help me set up the system.
Thanks guys.

Hi,

Guess it is better late then never.

Sorry things worked out that way for you, I had some issue with them too but that was back when the owner died, the son in law was taking over the business, they were behind on payments to vendors and moving.... that was a lot for anyone to handle.

Despite those early issues I had I was impressed with the system and have been very happy with it. It was just what I wanted and despite the fact I now have to work in thousand's of an inch I have to do what I have to do.

I don't remember if you were in on the issue of a member having an issue with his fence slipping and the redesign of the parts by itool to better fit the 520. If not you will want to find and read those posts. I personally haven't seen the issue but I'm not happy about the proposed additional cost to get the parts they should have given us in the first place. Anyway that is a windmill for another day.

Over winter I ordered the spline jig but have not yet gotten to play with it much less work on the project I got it for. I was going to make one but then they had them on sale and included a DVD so I figured why not buy it and save the time making one.

I'm also working on a method of making my own inserts to save some $$. Wish I had time to spend on that but it is down the list... Make sure you save at least one for saw operations seeing as how long it can be to get new ones.

Maybe she just does NOT like WOLVES!:D :D Especially PINK ones!:D :D

GOOD to see you back online!

BTW I just noticed - JAN("ship them tomorrow") - JUN("received") It seems SS is not the only one with delays built in.

ED, JPG, thanks guys. The system is feeling alien to me since I stored it while waiting. I need to get familiar with it again.
I'll have to search for the thread/post on the fence slipping issue. That concerns me a bit as my time is going to be short this summer to put it into use, before going to school up in Oregon this fall.
I'd better get "jiggy" (get it) with the system.:D
