So which one do you think works better, electrolysis or evaporust? I watched videos but would like personal opinions

Depends upon the part being treated. Evapoprust for small parts, electrolysis for larger parts. Electrolysis somewhat messier etc. Evaporust usually quicker.

Even a tool that looks like a "basket case" can be brought back to life. For the one above I mainly used vinegar as a rust remover. I have used Evaporust too but have not tried electrolysis. Evaporust works quicker than vinegar but also cost more. Since it is a weak acid there are parts that vinegar should not be used on. Alloy parts attached to steel or cast iron parts needing de-rusting can be damaged by vinegar/acid. Some collars are alloy and there are steel/alloy combination assemblies used on the Jig Saw. For the way tubes I have a PVC pipe with a glued on cap on one end and press the cap on the other. It's the best way I have used for de-rusting the way tubes. After three days in the vinegar the way tube is ready to be rinsed/neutralized, dried and polished. That was the process used for the way tubes shown above.
