I can't remember if the idler shaft is the same diameter from the hub end to the Control Sheave end. I have been wondering that since my post the other day.
I'll check it later on. The idler shaft is actually the shaft of a water pump bearing. Probably the same one used on the bandsaw and strip sander. The hub end is obviously 5/8" diameter because it is the accessory spindle. I'm pretty sure it is 5/8" at the other end, that should be the inner diameter of the shaft on the on sliding control sheave.
Thank you. Turned out to be kind of a weak storm where I am, the storm turned west immediately after landfall in Rhode Island and so far has bypassed us altogether. We are expecting some rain eventually if ever moves east again, but the center will be north of us by then. We didn't lose power for even a second, and that is remarkable around here.I hope all of you are okay and didn't suffer any damage.
