ACTUALLY the handles were NOT the primary target!:rolleyes: The bidding was SOOO low I could not resist. I picked up a table that way once for $0.99!:)
Did I say I Hate the new slender slinky hard to turn knobs. Must be careful acquiring them on Ebay since they made RED slender slinky hard to turn ones also.
BTW I like your new avatar(trying to advertise your 'idea'?).
Speaking of avatars, 8IOWA is it NOT time to change yours do re-align with the season?

Since my
1955 Greenie Mark 5 didn't come with one of the two handles, I purchased one of the replacements.
I want to replace the black plastic handle by
recreating the vintage style larger diameter red one. I thought that making a
casting of the old handle is the way to go. My problem is ......I never made a casting before.
Before I blindly go out on the internet and start searching around for info on how to do it, I wanted to post this thread assuming that someone in this forum might already have some experience in this area and if so, I'd like to hear your suggestions on how I should proceed.
I'm pretty sure it is original but the Grip on my greenie is aluminum. I'll add a picture when I get a chance.

Not that I am going to give up on trying to make one myself but...clocks a tickin' and now that I have a 10ER to work on next, I can't be juggling too many balls else I'll drop 'em all. Don't want to do that. You want to PM your mailing address and I'll UPS my new handle to you with a pre-paid return UPS label enclosed. Then you just have to do the swap and flag down the first UPS driver you see. Let me know. - Mike
