I have yet to receive my order for the springs that were the subject of this thread but I did receive (just now) the knobs that are associated with the knobs used on the Shopsmith rails. Then are not exact replacements but are in my opinion better than what came with my new Mark 5/Model510.

I bought these from Grainger: P/N 6Cxx2 for $1.67ea. Manufactured by Davies

Grainger carries the conical spring as well. P/N 1NC28 for $2.70 each. Pending receipt of springs before giving full recommendation.
DO NOT BUY these for use on the Mark -- WRONG SPRING

but Grainger does have what is needed
