That assumption is incorrect. They too are variable speed. A reduced range but variable.

NO! They are variable speed with an indicator with values of 1 2 3 4 5 .... Same inconcise indication as the SS A B C D ....

They are ALSO in the manuals for the PS and CS. The gripe is they are not on ANY published hang on the wall chart.

Copy from manual or copy & paste post here. Print in a large font then either laminate or put in one of those page protectors you get at business supply stores and hang on wall.
Might be easier than having to look them up each time you use the machine.

Understand where all this frustration comes from! It took 50+ YEARS for the letter to RPM chart to make it to the hang on the wall published chart. I cannot wait ANOTHER 50+ yr for the PS/CS to make it.
One does not always look to the chart to set the speed. The hardware WILL tell you if speed is reasonable(If you listen to it). If there were NO wall chart, there would be NO gripe. There are several SPT's listed which not everybody has. Why is PS/CS excluded?
The Biggest problem is that these charts are not accurate to begin with. There are so many things in the system that can affect the actual speed attained(belt wear, speed changer adjustment ...... SS has been reluctant in the past to establish these speed/setting numbers. I believe the PS/CS system is prone to wild variations in how it is adjusted so as to make a chart questionable. However the values for a properly adjusted unit ARE I think justified as much as the SS dial settings are.
