My thoughts: Depending on where and how the old machines were stored, I am wondering if this could be from rusty condensate drips from inside of the tubes from sweating. I know that one of my goldies appeared to have been stored outside in the vertical position for awhile and you would not believe how much rust and crud was inside the way tubes. I have a hard time picturing how an animal could do it's thing on the inside of the legs way up near the top unless of course they might have disassembled and lying on the floor. Now moving on .......
