I never did any formal plans so there are none to post. I built this prototype from rough drawings on a piece of paper.

The basic dimensions are listed in the thread and if you watch the Bridge City video and study the pictures, it's not too hard to duplicate.

Actually I was referring to the post where someone said that the original designer of this was going to post plans we could purchase. Sorry I wasn't clear on that. Thanks

Someone should tell him that the whole reason behind the design is so you can put it up against a fence then flip in again to the fence. In all the big knobs on the side is not going to make this tool as effective as the original. You wooden one is still far superior and you didnt even have a laser machine to cut it out for you. Just thought everyone could have a laugh.

It seems to me that you are a bit biased. The second kerfmaster looks to me like it too will do the job.

Please explain why anyone should be laughing at this 2nd design. You are critical but offer no detail to support your position.

If you are simply saying "Oh, that's nice but I prefer the previous one!" well then end of discussion.

Yep! And where are the 'knobs' he rants about? The screws might not work as WELL as the 'original' thumb wheels.

I believe everyone here has the right to state their personal opinions whether or not I agree with them. I think we all have opinions and tend to freely say what we think. Just go back and look at the threads on miter gauges or cross cut sleds and you will see that different opinions are expressed there as well.

My own personal opinion is that I much prefer mine to the plastic knock off. This does not mean that the plastic one won't work well and do a fine job. I being a woodworker of an intermediate level just like the look and feel of my wooden one. I also get the satisfaction of knowing that I made it myself and furthered my woodworking skill by doing so.

With regards to OPINIONS and your right to have those that differ from mine - I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE.

All I did was express mine. I don't think we are in disagreement except for whose kerfmaker is best. Since I don't have one and have never used one, my opinion doesn't count for much.

As for your version, you SHOULD BE proud of your own version of the kerfmaker. I was impressed as I am sure many others were.

The guy who did the 2nd version is equally impressed with his own.

Incidently, I sorta like my outfeed table better than Nick's version but then his is made of wooden parts and mine used store bought and scrounge box parts.
