I do NOT understand WHAT you mean by "match up to the Uni's". I DO understand the comment re "mess with them washers". My self-alignment comment was referring to the arbor putting a 5/8" blade in the same position relative to the blade slot in the table as a 1 1/4" arbor.

Exactly.
I now know that the 'standard single blade' arbor 555608 (which I don't have) matches up to the 'Universal' arbor 505506 (at least two of the three) and the SS 'standard' 1-1/4 arbor 555130 in where it places the blade, the difference being that the -608 and -130 don't use additional washers.

So, I can switch a blade mounted on one of the various -506 arbors with a blade mounted on a -608 or a -130 and have the blade reasonably centered in the table's blade slot.

I'm guessing that the other -506 (the discontinued 1-3/8 long version) would match as well. Makes sense.

Perhaps it makes sense, but it is wrong! This is WHY I did NOT understand your 'uni' comment.

TAKE NOTE of the following 'details'.

The molder/dado arbor (505506) does NOT align the blade to the blade slot. The use of the various spacer combinations makes that impossible.

The 5/8" SAW arbor(555608) will position a blade with a 5/8" arbor hole in approximately the same position in the blade slot as a 1 1/4" blade mounted on a 1 1/4" arbor(555130).

The 'uni' arbor(505506) is not intended to be used with a 'single' blade. It is NOT intended to be used as a "universal" arbor. It is for molder and dado use.

The part # mentioned above(555608 & 555130) are for use on a 505/510/520.
