Not when it's coming to me!! lol

Besides, the speed changer was an optional accessory to be added to a stock E/ER at additional cost, not a standard component to a base Shopsmith machine.

Speed changer robs power. Purists don't use them.

Nice bench!:D It has a 10er fence! That extension table wasn't 'original' either. Where's the 'original' wooden one that fits the 'original' tailstock with studs?

Looks like there's a depth indicator on the quill feed too. All of those clues lead me to believe it is an ER, not an E.

I haven't had time to scrutinize every part, but the name plate clearly reads:
Model 10E. The ring that the indicator is mounted to is different than my ER's in that there is a bolt that clamps it on. $40 can't go wrong!!!

What prefix is before the serial number? My oldest ER has "Model 10E" on the logo plate, but the prefix to the SN is "ER-" and it has all of the ER features as opposed to the E features. From what I understand, this means it started life as a Model 10E, but before it left the factory it received a retrofit making it an ER. Perhaps this is the same with yours? If not, I'd say the previous owner did the upgrade himself because that extension table, fence, and other parts say "10ER." But that tailstock does look like a 10E tailstock. Can you take a picture of the other side of it? Also, it's hard to tell from the photo, but something looks odd at the spindle. Can you take a closer picture there?

Interesting... More anomalies...

Given any thoughts on a repair method for that broken quill collar? Here's a concept that came up on a casting with similar damage. My thread on it started here. Potential unproven fix is in post #17 that may be worth trying.
