Whoops! Neutral is the name of the Watco color. I mistakenly called it natural. My mind must think that neutral will yield an enhancement of the natural wood color. Looks like it did just that!
I love your new pix! Very pretty wood! A tray? Why not!!!! Nifty!

Why not two trays?:D
I thought about it, but the pieces were just getting smaller than I was comfortable working with. A silver dollar
might fit in each of those compartments in that tray. In fact, I actually broke one of the pieces in half. It was either the front or back of the tray. Thankfully I already had a piece of tape on one side to label what part it was and that held the broken pieces together. All I had to do was put a little glue in the break, then tape the other side until the glue dried enough to hold it.

[quote="mickyd"]Toxic wood......does that mean a respirator is needed or is a conventional white dust mask ok? Might sound like a crazy question but I'd rather ask than not.[/QUOTE
Mike if you have a respirator use it , I have been ok with just a mask.

I've got an additional bandsaw box under my belt now. Here's the first one and second one together. Notice I went all crazy this time and did something other than just a rectangle! lol
I added a couple of coins in the picture to give a sense of scale.
Same material and finish (sans wax) as the first one. In fact, this one is from the same block that the first one was from. What I started with was roughly 3"x3"x9" which I cut somewhere near half and made the two boxes from the halves. I made this one this evening when I got home for work. I'll give it to my mom tomorrow.
I just love that grain on the top.

I was showing the new box to my wife when my oldest little girl, who will be 4 in July, asked me, "
Daddy, can you make me a heart shaped box?" I had to tell her yes and the smile on her face just melted my heart.
So I'll be making a heart shaped box soon.

Great job on the boxes. I have some cedar that I plan to make similar boxes. The pieces are too small and in a wedge shape, so the only thing that I can think of to do with them is make some little boxes like this.
Those little children can wrap your heart around themselves quickly. My 3 year old grandson can get me to do about anything. I think it must keep us younger.

What about some felt to line the inside? Could we pick that up in a fabric store and use one of the woodglues or some other glue?
