I used to track activity on a daily basis and would have been able speak to this. I no longer do that because no one seemed to be interested in the statistics. However, I can report that there have been:

161 new members join since September 22,

only 144 threads were started in that same time frame and

only 578 posts since October 10.

On the upside, the new members do seem to be more inclined to post and ask questions than they were earlier (when I was tracking activity closely).

I am totally unable to analyze any of what I have been viewing here. I am too new to the forum and too new to woodworking. I don't even own a table saw or a Mark 5.

I have been waiting, trying to gather the information I need to make a good decision. I am waiting, though not patiently, for a detailed report on the new Power Pro. I am very disappointed and surprised that the new owners do not speak out more about their new experiences.

Maybe they all feel like that would be bragging and therefore not appropriate.

Does anyone have any idea just how many have been sold.

There have been numerous reports on the PP headstock on the tool review section as well as some of the other sections on this forum. Do a search for Power Pro and see what comes up. There have been discussions about a few issues that have been corrected through programming the electronics. You just have to through the forum sections to find the discussions. My PP headstock ios due tomorrow and I will use it for a while and report.

There are no "full blown" product reviews yet.

You have to dig through the many posts/threads and discard many of those that result from the words Power and Pro that are not applicable. I don't believe that anyone has had a PowerPro long enough to have really used it enough to write a proper review. However, most of the tids bits that have been posted have been very positive. DOES THAT HELP?:rolleyes:

Hey Stitch.....you may have thought of a great new thread to start titled "Power Pro User Review". True PP review info may be too scattered or non documented at all. With some planning, thread initiator may develop some specific user questions that PP folks could answer. I'm sure the group could even think up some questions of interest to help. Just a thought.

Doing a google search (from www.google.com) using the following exactly as shown:

site:ShopSmith.net "power pro"

It will give you much better results but....it will find EVERY instance Power Pro was posted. (i.e. JoeBlow - So, what's a power pro)

I had to make an emergency repair to the roof of one barn and reconnect the cable/ground on a duplex line to that security light. Ladders and I are not especially good friends and in gusty 35+ MPH winds even less so. Not nearly enough hands.
We came out well. Just 4 to 6 miles south west of us a small cell had some smallish tornado activity. It took out a lot of trees for a strip about a quarter of a mile wide and maybe 5 miles long. It didn't just blow them over, it ripped many of them into shreds and scattered the pieces in every direction. We saw one badly damaged house that was crawling under a big blue tarp to lick its wounds...

I was in the "old new woodshop" and the "new new woodshop" both for a little while this afternoon and I was able to make several planning decisions which I wrote down. Does that count as "accomplishment"?
I was able to decide where I will be putting my bench and most of my hand tools as well as where all of the fasteners and finishes will go. Winter is coming and that shop (our former house) is really easy to heat and will be very nice to work in. It was built for electric heat and I will use that to maintain basic heat so that it will never freeze (still fully plumbed). I will put in a chimney (probably a stainless metal kit) and put in a small wood-stove.
