My recollection is the scroll saw is driven off of the idler shaft. If this is not the case, then the tubes should be okay. If it is the case, strip sander or jigsaw mounting tubes should get you in the ballpark of the quill.

That explains why the tubes are short like the jointer!:rolleyes:

Can you tell the shake down cruise has not left the dock yet?:D

I figured you knew how it was driven since I thought you had mounted and run your 'new' saw........no knocka knocka here.

I have to admit that that statement was made by observing the clearance of the arm to the cover when arm is in maxed up position. Yes that means assuming little dynamic effect, but I think 3/8" is more than enough clearance!;)

I do not expect any knocka knocka.

I will be sure to tell y'all if there is!:eek:

BTW I am using craftsman blades(from the PO) which are slightly over 5" long.

Considering Linda's response, I believe the blade mounting does indeed 'tell the tale' re knocka knocka!
