Just to tag on about your local store. Mine here in Tulsa is Great, some of you remember my problem with the blitz chuck in the KC store and the manager here made it right and was glad to do it. I go in and they make sure all of us get what we need for turning etc and if they don't have it like was said you pay for it there and their will have it shipped to your house or since I am close another shopping trip is never bad and they will hold it at the store for you. Great place to do business and have a great clearance section you don't want to pass up.

Along the subject of Woodcraft stores, I was browsing the Woodcraft store in Lenexa, Kansas and noticed in the list of classes they have an Adirondack Chair class and also a bandsaw box class and the instructor for these classes is Mike Cobb, who was one of the Shopsmith Travelling Academy Instructors when they were operating. I had Mike for a couple of the TA's I attended and he was an excellent instructor who also showed a love for woodworking as well. Just thought I would pass this information on especially to anyone who may live close to this store. I feel real confident that if one was to take one of his classes they would not be disappointed.

Ron, I am glad you had a good experience at the Lenexa store since that was the store I got into it with on Blitz Friday, I did not like it's lay out at all and they really did not have much for pen turners at all. Guess I really just got use to the customer and personal attention I get at Tulsa. I also had a good trip to the woodcraft at OKC when I went there once.

Bill, I haven't ever physically been to the Lenexa Woodcraft store in Kansas, but was just browsing its webpage. Thats where I discovered the information on my previous post. Sorry about how my posting made it appear that I had actually been there.

If ever in the area. The Cincinnati woodcraft is huge. You could fit 4 or 5 of the old store in there.

Ron, not a problem I sometimes think ahead of my reading, also ahead of my typing. I really don't think there is a real bad woodcraft but probably have some bad sales persons. I think most hit it on the head since the sales persons actually are wood workers and turners. Some of the classes are taught by the sales persons at my store. I have not attended the classes as I would like but have been to all the free demos on new products so I can see how they work. I bet the classes would really be worthwhile but since I am out of work and only working some temp jobs. Maybe in the future I can attend some of their classes.
I really enjoy all the posts and never take offense in anything anyone says. Just a big happy family and you know how family sometimes does, I built a nice SPT stand using an old Sun Machine cabinet and will get some pictures on here soon. Still need to get it painted SS Grey and get some SS logos on it.
