If it fits in a coffee cup, and you have a pair, it might be large enough for a pen.

Since my enjoyment is mostly small projects, intrasia, boxes, pens, and small furniture pieces, very little is too small to be saved. Plywood smaller than a credit card goes. Just about everything else gets stuffed into clear plastic bins based on color...white, light, dark, very dark. Longer pieces, like 3 ft, rest on an old metal bookcase. If it is 3/4 thick and better than 3/4 wide, it is saved in a pail for pen turning.
Problem is, I will either have to work harder at my hobby or find more boxes.

Just ran across this article from wood magazine talking about what to do with scraps. Looks like we are not the only ones having to deal with this issue. I also have a hard time tossing my cut offs as well. Anyways below is the link.

Those are cutoffs! Probably lived a previous life in a HD cull pile or trash container!:D

I found a cabinet shop here in town that takes there scraps and grinds them up to use to burn in there boilers. If you can get there before they grind it up, they will let you have some. I just found out about them this week.

For some reason the county delivered 4 heavy plastic recycle boxes to us. I use the three unneeded ones for scrap divided into 2-by, hardwood, and small plywood. Larger plywood and other sheet scraps go on a roll-around cart I built.
Just today I inventoried my sheet scrap cart to find a piece large enough to make a raised printer stand for this table so I can get the printer off the desk.
I'm way too cheap to throw away anything that could be useful. Let the relatives do it when I'm gone!!
