Rob, I must have sign up about 2 or 3 times in the last few months this year and a couple of times last year and that too is not working.
I used to receive the tips before things got difficult and suddenly everything stoped.
I will phone them tomorow, I will never give up on Shopsmith and I love my Mark V. I am putting aside some money in order to upgrade my 520 to a powerpro and double tilting machine. For us, canadian, going through All in one tools instead of directly to SS, is not always a blessing.
Your are all my witnesses here on the forum, I want a nova G3 on special at my favorite tool company, Shopsmith.

To help preserve your status for discussion with Shopsmith, maybe you should send them an email before the deadline (to customer service).

Stuff happens and sometimes email sign ups don't work. That is why I check the Specials link from the Shopsmith Owners Site so I don't miss anything.

The G3's are on backorder when they are on special? Really?

I don't really NEED it right now so not a big deal, but why put something on special that you don't have in stock? Speacial price usually means more sales so extra stock on hand I thought was pretty much SOP. I ended up spending quite a bit extra on this order to combine the shippng charges so the "suck em in with the sale price and hope they buy more not on sale stuff" (not a bad thing IMO) worked on/for me.

I just sems to me like a bad plan.

Tis also a way to allow ordering larger volume so as to get a better price/unit on something you are about to run out of and have to order! Also expedites return on those sold as 'specials'.

Hmmm, I didn't see that angle. Could be.

Not a bad idea, but a better message than the "may be on backorder..." would be something like "will be shipped directly from manufacturer" or "there will be a (insert rough time frame) delay on filling this special price order to allow us to get special pricing from the manufacturer".

"May" to me is pretty vague, either it's on backorder or not, to me it is better wording. I'd rather be told it's on backorder and be suprised when it shows up early than wonder if it is on backorder or not.

I'm not really complaining, just whining out loud. :p Let the flogging begin, I'm a big boy I can take it.

Gee they also eliminated the shipping cost from manufacturer to Dayton.

I would assume that since this is an 'outside' the house product, that they are both looking to increase sales by running a 'special'.;)

Almost just like Amazon!......
