I live in Central Michigan. I bought a 10E and 10ER about three years ago. I scraped, sanded and painted everything that is supposed to be painted and had a lot of fun. I sold the 10E and barely got out what I had into it. I had to purchase a few items off Ebay to make it a stock 10E. I also had to buy a couple things for my 10ER off Ebay.
If I would of had enough room in my little shop I would have kept both of them.
I mainly plan on using my 10ER for lathe work and horizontal drilling as I have full sized woodworking equipment as well.
I visit this site often but rarely post anything. My summer was not a good one and my health kept me from doing much woodworking, mainly woodturning. Now that I am feeling better, somewhat, it's mostly too cold and too expensive to run my propane heater much. So I probably won't be in my shop much.
How many Michiganders do I make now? I notice on other forums I frequent there seems to be a lot of people from Michigan who are members.
I have learned a lot from this forum and will continue to "lurk" around.
Tim.

Tim, you RESTORED it to a real 10E? That takes some guts, as well as hunting for the right parts.

Oh, since I spent most of Christmas outside, in shirtsleeves, what is this "propane heater" you speak of.":D (Yes, in a few days, we're gonna have a "cold snap.") It might make it into the '50s.

Seriously, concensus says the 10 E or ER makes the best lathe, and drill-press, in any mode. (Except when you try to lift all that cast iron up.)

Oh, if you need any more help with the ER, just post. I've only got 4 of them. (Currently.)

Hey there, newbie here from between Lansing and GR. Allways wanted a SS since the old show days, kept an eye on Craigslist lately and pulled the trigger last weekend. I have no idea what I'm doing.

Steve the 10E only needed a few things and as far as I know it was a 10E without any ER parts. I had no trouble finding what I needed on ebay, just had trouble finding the parts with a price I wanted to pay.
