If you don't get the paint from Shopsmith, I found that Tremclad spray paint in "textured dark pewter" is a reasonably close colour match. Here is a base painted with it:

Unless you want it to look all original, or intend to display it as a restored unit, the color choice is yours. If the intent is to use it for the rest of your woodworking days, feel free to personalize the colors to satisfy yourself.

For example, my first 500, an early '55 model:

Admittedly not for everybody, but I sure won't lose it amongst the clutter in my shop!

As much as I like going completely thru one and refurbing, I have to agree with the guys. It looks like yours is in great shape. Address the rust, go thru a thorough periodic maintenance to lube everything, take the time to go thru the complete alignment/tuning process and then make sawdust!!
