Much cheaper and simpler than trying to fix an old system.
The repair parts were inexpensive. About $8 only. What I lack is a confirmed schematic for my unit but I think I have been given enough of that as well.

I've learned enough about how the ignition kill works that I am no longer concerned about disabling my vehicle. Jumper wires with alligator clips will get me running if I screw up the kill circuit.

If I get to that point, I'll just have to learn to scope the area before I start the truck with a jumper wire.

Yeah, you are right. The kids only come to me to borrow the diesel when they need the trailer hitch - like on a moving day or to pull a parade float in the rodeo parade or a trailer full of stuff from the horse corrals.
