Most would go to plumbing a shop sink. The balance for hardwoods. Perhaps I would forget the shop sink and just buy hardwoods. fjimp

I would spend ~$900 of it on a woodmaster setup off of craigslist when a nice one comes by again. The $600 would probably go toward shop cabinets and other organizational stuff.

Paul,

I recently built (still much tweaking to do) a DIY CNC router, ~18"x51"+ capacity. I probably spent close to $1500 just on the non-electronics hardware, around $1000 on the electronics, and around another $grand on software, precise collets, bits, and other miscellaneous stuff.

Thankfully, I'm done with any larger expenditures, at least for now.

I'm already doing some pretty cool things with it, but now have a huge learning curve on software and operating the machine itself.

It is possible to build a complete mid-size system for around $1500, but might have to make some sacrifices that could lead to lower precision, slower, etc. There is a guy working on a design for a small CNC with a goal of $300 for all hardware (Shapeoko)

I definitely need some more shop space. I'd like to add on about 7x12 or so to my existing shop. I also need more electrical circuits brought in. Those are probably over $1500 combined if not each. I desperately need to insulate and side my shop, around $500-750 there.

There's a local (OKC) demo of the new PowerPro & Mark 7 later this week, so I'll probably be drooling over at least the PP. That also blows through another $1500+.

I will definitely be insulating/siding my shop in bits and pieces over the next few months, hopefully finishing before it heats back up next summer. There's a very good chance that I'll be upgrading to a PP in the next 6 to 18 months. Low chance of increasing the size of my shop. Depending on cost, a decent chance of bringing in more power. I also need a better filter on my dust collector and a shop air filter and will probably address these in the next few months.
