And I believe a major 'difference' is that the Power Pro can deliver that power over most of it's speed range, whereas the induction motor is rated at its typical run speed(3450) and the power(torque) varies inversely with the output shaft speed. Also the Power Pro is constantly monitoring the speed and makes adjustments as a need is detected.
It is the inherent hysteresis resulting from this 'speed up/slow down' sequencing that creates the observed 'speed variation' on the display.
IMHO we should ignore that display and use our ears to determine if the 'speed' varies!;)
