I'll drop him an email and let him know you are all pining for him and with any luck you'll see a post in this thread soon.

You nailed that! Right after he took a trip through AZ when he played with yer horsey thingie, he only posted a couple of times after that. He did respond to a 'you OK?' PM(as he had sent to me upon a short hiatus on my part) and gave no indication as to any serious problems.

Maybe SHMBO noticed who/what he visited in AZ and banned him from this old fogey(not really true!) institution.:D

Orrr maybe she 'discovered' Pinky! No NOT the werewolf kind!;)

Here is a little something to watch in your spare time and if you are in to cars.

Not bad for a 2 liter 4 banger.

The featured driver from this video, Ken Block, competes in the WRC (the premier world rally championship). While he undeniably has excellent car control, in competition on real roads (snow, gravel & tarmac) he finished in 22nd place last year. He had 2 podium finishes out of 15 events. Imagine driving like that and being slower than almost everyone else in the field.

Not every woodworking project

actually involves wood. Had some shop time today and did something I've been wanting to do for a long time.

I have an old CarbaTec mini-lathe, which I love and treasure. However, the standard tool rest that comes with it is only about 3" wide. That's barely enough to do half a pen blank at a time. Finding a bigger (i.e. wider, longer, however you describe it) one is difficult (and expensive), especially since it requires a 1/2" post.

So, while I was in town topping off the tank in my truck (at $3.05 a gallon), I swung by the local big box store and bought some 1/2" OD cold rolled steel and 3/4" angle.

Now, I'm not much of a welder, and this one ain't purty, but I think it's gonna work out just fine.

And, I still got another 2' 6" of angle and 2' 9" of rod, so I figure I can try to make up some of them fancy special ones with curves and angles.

Now, if I can just figure out how to make my own lathe tools. I really want a 1" roughing gouge......

Who needs Bo Derek

OK, I'll admit, I've watched Bo Derek run in slow motion more than once, but I must be getting old because now I'd rather watch this....

Warm and fuzzy again now. :) :)

Our internet 'route' must be the same or share much commonality. Made like a yo-yo all day and a motionless one last night.

Read today that 89% of internet traffic is SPAM!:D What a $%^&* waste!
